What is Tree-Free™?

What is Compostable?
A compostable product will breakdown over time into usable soil. Composting can be done at home or in a commercial composting facility.
What is BPA Free?
Emerald™ Tree-Free™ clamshells are also BPA free. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a potentially toxic hormone-mimicking chemical used in some plastics and plastic sealants. BPA has also been found in the ink on newspapers and receipts, leading to the presence of BPA in recycled paper products. Emerald Brand Tree-Free™ products are naturally BPA free!
What is Chlorine Free?
Emerald's pulp bleaching process uses Hydrogen Peroxide, a much safer alternative to elemental chlorine gas, making Emerald™ Products Chlorine Free.
What is USDA Biobased?
A USDA Biobased product is identified as a product that is made up of primarily biological or agricultural materials. The USDA label assures consumers that the product contains a USDA-verified amount of renewable biological ingredients.
